I'm trying to figure this one out, too... the other two were really easy, but this one? Geez...
So, DRC is a Kiss song, but how am I supposed to find liner notes online? I can't think of a recent release that sounds vaguely Kiss-ish, and the drumming for DRC is pretty non-extraordinary. Just a beat and some fills, or did I miss something?
This one is impossible - it's like you just have to happen to know the song and the artist or you are screwed! It's impossible to research. What my friends and I have been doing is just going to random web sites of possible bands - My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, White Stripes, the Shins, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, etc. We have gone through hundreds of sites today and can't find that stinking grackle! This is going to be a BIG group effort, so I will post if I find it! Thanks, everyone!
I've been through some sites myself, but I wish I had thought to make a note of which ones! I hadn't checked some of the ones you have, so that's good. I should have tried to see if that grackle was an image file that may be indexed by Google or some other metasearch... cheaters always prosper, you know...
damn, and i spent forever going through the white stripes, black keys and for some reason radiohead sites (just because id be really stoked if they play) for the bird, but at least its been found.
contains an interview of the band members of new pornographers and an interview...
here's a quote for everyone who is as confused as i am...
""Use It": Newman points out that drummer Dahle used beats from Iron Maiden, Kiss's "Detroit Rock City", and Zep's "Fool In The Rain" to create this "Frankenstein's monster".

I've tried the Grackle route to no avail. I'm looking, you're looking - we are bound to find something.

The key was to search BLOGS on Google.

any information such as when the album was released or where the group was from would have made this a lot easier...
all i know is that the beat for DRC is pretty fast so whatever band is the answer, they will be an fast-paced rock band

Try the bands under that site listed! That was a great tip - thank you! Looks like the pornographers win!

Today's answer is Matisyahu... If you haven't seen him, it's surreal. Playing outdoors in Texas in summer won't be any less so. Go to matismusic.com.
